B C Killough has counseled businesses and professionals for over 30 years. As a registered patent attorney, Killough has obtained more than 350 United States patents for clients, participated in prosecuting more than 100 foreign patent applications and filed more than 1500 trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office on behalf of his clients.
In addition, he has obtained numerous foreign trademark registrations for clients and his foreign patent work includes participation in contested proceedings before the Opposition Division of the European Patent Office. B C Killough formerly served as an adjunct professor, teaching patent law, at the University of South Carolina School of Law.
As a litigator, Bill regularly litigates intellectual property, unfair competition, and trade regulation
matters before US District Courts, and trademark matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute, a national fellowship of intellectual property litigators.
Bill is certified as a mediator by South Carolina Supreme Court Arbitrator and Mediator Certification Board, and he is a member of the International Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution. In order to focus on matters in which he is most experienced, he limits his mediation practice to commercial dispute and IP matters.
